From Restaurant Owner to Road Tripper — Here's Why I Built This

10 years of long days and hard work, building my restaurant Colins from nothing. A year of renovations before we served our first plate. Every penny reinvested back into the business. Then COVID hit — doors closed overnight, a full restaurant suddenly empty, and everything I'd built fighting to survive. We made it through. But those years took everything I had.

Through all of it, I had one dream I kept pushing to "someday." Pack up everything, buy a camper, and travel the world with my wife Nancy and our Basset Hound Bobbie — before we're too old to enjoy it. At 58, I realized someday was now or never.

So I stopped waiting. We gave up everything we had built — the restaurant, the house, the stability — packed it all into a camper, and left. Just me, Nancy, and Bobbie. It was the scariest decision of my life. But some dreams don't wait.

What I didn't expect: before we could leave, I realized Bobbie had no proper gear for life on the road. So I spent a full year researching, developing and testing everything myself — on Bobbie, in real conditions, on real walks.
